The Lord EVM

After the week of adulation and over veneration of the so-called Executive Minister, EVM  it is time to cleanse our palates and clear our minds of the wrong doctrines being slowly but surely infused into our collective brains. I hope you will bear with me as I will digress to other topics along the way.

As expected, there were many Birthday greetings ranging from the simple to the sickening praises of a man. It is sickening because they go against the very teachings we were given before and because some are uttered by the very ministers who are supposed to teach us the Biblical truths. Here are some from America:

This young STF Minister greeted with these words:

Screen Shot 2016-11-07 at 03.43.08.png

In case you missed it: he said EVM “PERSONALLY SAVED HIM FROM LOSING HIS LIFE”?!?

This statement is deplorable in so many levels.

  1. There’s not even a small “Thanks” to GOD. Whatever happened to…

“Give thanks to God no matter what circumstances you find yourself in. (This is God’s will for all of you in Jesus the Anointed.)”  1 Thessalonians 5:18

2.Was EVM literally there at his accident? Did “The Most  Important Man in the World” give him CPR? Operate on him?

(Makes me think of those Dos Equiis advertisements – – EVM does not call 911. 911 calls EVM.)

3.  Does EVM now have the power over Life and Death?

“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.” Acts 17:24-25

4.  This is a painful slap to those families of those who did not survive. Why didn’t EVM save their lives?!

Brother Vasquez, if you want to score brownie points don’t do it at the expense of those who passed away. It is a lowly thing to say.

If some of you are not aware of what I am referring to, Brother Vasquez  was one of the the two survivors in a car crash that happened on the 1st January 2015. They were on their way back from the Philippine Arena where all Evangelical Workers were REQUIRED to attend the New Year’s concert in which rapper Chris Brown was a no show. On their way home, around 2:00 AM, they stopped on the side of the freeway because the driver was so sleepy. Sadly, a drunk driver hit their car and two of the Evangelical Workers died: Brothers Elson Gabrintina and Justin Soriano.

If EVM had only followed his father’s instructions to all brethren that we would only have church activities on New Year’s Eve early in the evening and have a closing prayer no later than 9:00 PM, the deaths of these young men could have been avoided.

To add insult to injury, the Administration had to use its influence over the police and media to suppress the news about the accident so that it would not blow up into a scandal. You don’t believe me? Try searching for the news online. The only thing you would find is this tiny article where it does not even mention that they were INC or that they were Evangelical Workers of the Church nor that they were American citizens.

To top it all off, Brother Vasquez has the nerve to go on INC radio and LIE. He was told to specifically say that “he alone decided to go to the concert”. Really? You were NOT REQUIRED to sell tickets to the Arena? You were NOT REQUIRED to attend? What did you get in return, Brother Mark?

Like I said earlier, bear with me as I digress. Let’s go to another “greeting” for the so called Administrator. Here is a  screenshot from a video of Ministers of the Mid-Atlantic district where they do some odd chanting mixed with Biblical verses and cheers, to promises to EVM, to some Karate Ki Ai, and a pledge of allegiance. It’s like an odd-non musical-We Are The World-video. Let’s sort this out:

Screen Shot 2016-11-07 at 04.02.59.png

      1. Why would the Ministers need to assure the so called Executive Minister that God would never leave him alone? Is he unsure?Screen Shot 2016-11-07 at 04.04.25.png2. If EVM is so dynamic in his leadership, why is it that after 7 years of Administration EVM still needs to be reassured by Ministers that they will be loyal? Losing control perhaps?

Screen Shot 2016-11-07 at 04.07.28.png

3. Why do they call him SIR? If some are not aware, most Ministers call EVM- Sir. So what, you say? Please read the letter of the previous Executive Minister, Brother Eraño Manalo regarding the use of the word Sir. Let him explain:

Screen Shot 2016-11-07 at 04.12.11.png

Here is a larger view of one of the paragraphs, wherein it states (in English) about the origin of the word “Sir” or “Sire” which means “Master” or “Lord”.

Screen Shot 2016-11-06 at 15.33.24.png

Thus, he instructed NOT TO CALL HIM or any Minister, “SIR”, even if it is to show respect because what prevails is the doctrine (which he quoted):

“But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers.” Matthew 23:8

Screen Shot 2016-11-06 at 15.30.13.png

Let’s think about this for a moment. What is the point of being called Brother instead of Teacher? That we are all the same. So how can one be “The Most Important Man in the World”?

Once again, what does this show? EVM still continues to move away from the doctrine of God and regulations set by the previous Administrator. Just go back to my previous posts about Loans (The Present Truth), on Houses of Worship and On Prayers. You will see WRITTEN instructions of Brother Eraño. See for yourself how this Administrator continues to defy his own father and most of all, God’s commands. And you still ask why so many brethren are angry? These are not made up lies. What I have written here are based on the doctrines we have all received, brethren.

Let me end this with the last part of Brother Eraño’s letter:

Screen Shot 2016-11-06 at 15.30.25.png

It says, “Let us fulfill these instructions in order to take care of the Church against ANYTHING THAT MAY TURN IT AWAY FROM ANY OF GOD’S COMMANDS and to maintain the cleanliness and purity until the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

  1. Thank you for reminding us the pure teachings and doctrines we have. Hope that the sangunian group will realize soon that they are destroying the core of INC.
In the movie ‘the hobbit , the dragon warns ” never underestimate the power of gold”. I pray that ka EVM will overcome the power of gold, just like in the movie, wherein he will revert and fight for what is right, against his own goons.

  2. thanks for sharing this. Sometimes when you see something and you immediately realize that it is wrong but you could not quite put a finger on what actually is wrong about it… that’s how I felt when I saw the video from these mid-atlantic ministers. You feel a physical repulsiveness to what you are seeing even though you still could not put to words exactly why what they are doing is wrong… so thank you for pointing out what is exactly wrong with what these ministers are doing in the video. I see some ministers in that video that what they did is just out of their character. I feel bad for them because they are not strong enough to uphold their love of God and they folded just like that when pressured to do something abominable like this if front of the Lord.

As I was reading Ka Erdy’s worldwide instructions to the ministers and workers, I can’t help but realize even more how noble and guided he was in administering the church. He made it clear that this is not about him but about God. That nobody has the authority to rule as Lord except for Christ and that we are all brethren in Christ. We may play different parts inside the body but equally important nonetheless. I hope this will be realized by the new breed of ministers so they will start to humble themselves and consider brethren not as their slaves but as their equal brethren in Christ.

I remember a scene from when EVM went to visit here in Northern California and the district forced all officers to attend. That was the time when everything was still okay and EVM has not lost his mind yet and has not yet expelled his Mother and siblings. Everyone was actually exited to go to San Francisco to perform. I had to file a leave of absence from work just to perform but it did not really matter.
And then this very disturbing scene happened. A minister stood up right in the middle of the choir loft. No smile, no pleasantries, no greetings to the performing officers. He started to talk (actually scream because he does not want to use a mic) to the more than 200 choir members in a berating manner on how the choir members should answer very loud and clear every time EVM asks a question and during the prayer because that is what “Sir” wants. He continued this berating “lecture” for about ten minutes in pure tagalog not even considering that more than half of the people he is talking to does not have any idea what he is yelling about. There’s a mix of african american and caucasian choir members in front of him for crying out loud. It just shows his disrespect to the brethren in front of him – at least speak in english!

I was thinking to myself who in the world is this guy? In all my years as an officer, I have never seen such a display of disrespect. He did not even ask permission or acknowledge the choir directress who should be the one talking to the choir for instructions. I later on learned from another deacon that the minister is from Central named Matt Pareja. Even now I could not forget how he acted towards the choir members that day. Such a shame coming from a minister.

  3. Thanks for this Sir! Uhmm I mean brother! If the OWEE cannot see & understand how clear this article is and still try & think of many things to justify their actions, then they really need to pray as hard as they can because their God given light is dimming fast, pray with all your might before that light is completely replaced by darkness. Good day to all!

  4. Great article as always. I didn’t know that Bro. EGM had an instruction back then not to call anyone “Sir.” Oh well, times have really changed.

While Bro. EGM was humble, EVM was “hambog” on the other hand. Because of this difference between them, we are really sure that whenever brethren greet Bro. EGM on his birthday or whatever the occasion was, you know that it came from their heart. But when they greet EVM, you know that it is under duress.

  5. This is just to compliment you for your unique approach in your postings like this one. Unlike others, though equally well-written, interesting and witty, yours has the added value of focusing on established, traditional INC teachings & procedures, specifically Ka Erdy’s writings & pronouncements, as the springboard for pointing out the glaring deviations in the Church today especially those spearheaded by the current administration. Perhaps, you are one of the embodiments of what Ka Erdy supposedly had warned the evildoers in the Church, i.e., he would rise from his grave if they try to lead the church astray. I am a voracious reader and have made it a point to keep abreast of the current developments in the church especially through social media postings where I get treated to a whole range of emotional outbursts – from gutter-language postings of “blind followers” to brilliant, heart-warming expositions/comments of “thinking” and sincerely concerned brethren. Your articles are a welcome and inspiring respite from the daily dose of troubling changes in the church and what I personally consider as “missteps” that the current administration continues to take in pursuit of EVM’s obsession to leave his own mark in the church, trying to outdo FYM and EGM with the legacies they left behind. EVM has lost me the first time he declared that there is no corruption in the church contrary to what I heard EGM rant against the corrupt practices of practically all ministers. Eh, sino ho iyang ganyang manggagawa. Maraming manggagawa natin, halos lahat ganyan. ) My other main pet peeves: the continuous persecution of the 36TS residents despite a pending appeal in court which should be respected at the very least, the relentless “quantity-oriented” missionary campaign (with never-ending, routinary devotional prayers and accompanying “state-of-the-art” promotional/advertising gimmicks) ostensibly to spread the gospel of salvation while at the same time allowing the church to be portrayed in a bad light in various news media; ignoring the pleadings of current members for transparency re drastic changes in procedures and practices such as the questionable use of church funds, harsh treatment of “whistleblowers” and those with legitimate questions about perceived malpractices; subtly slanting lessons and biblical verses to justify their positions such as the case of Myriam in connection with the “complete submission to the administration” doctrine (where it appears to me that it was a special case of Myriam being punished directly by God and not by Moses, the leader, who even prayed to God to heal her and who amply demonstrated his fallibility in many instances); and de-emphasizing the traditional edification activities such as visitations/counseling/prayers/anointing of oil, in favor of big, social events such as sports fests, art contests, concerts, etc. Like you (who I hope are still an active minister in the church), I am holding on to my office and membership in the church because I owe a lot to FYM, EGM and the INC which were used by God as instruments for me to learn and understand fully well that God the Father is the only one true God whom I should serve and obey. And unless, He sends another messenger (perhaps the 3rd Elijah?) with impeccable credentials, I won’t simply give up my right as an INC member and will stick and fight it out with God’s help. God bless and more power to you!

  6. The weekend worship services times are again “chaotically” adjusted to give way to the “playback” showing of the Lord EVM’s officiating a special gathering in Japan.

  7. SIR EVM,
Though power may seem attractive and a solution to many of life’s problems, it is often found to be a trap by those who attain it. When seeking roles of authority, do not allow the luster of power to blind you from seeing its risks and demands. Seek not power, but the positive changes that your power can create in the lives of your fellow humans.

  8. Vasquez thanking EVM for saving his life? That and the couple thanking EVM for blessing their baby in Bakersfield when they offered it has to take the cake. God is not happy.
