• a person who is blamed for the wrongdoings, mistakes, or faults of others, especially for reasons of expediency.
  • (in the Bible) a goat sent into the wilderness after the Jewish chief priest had symbolically laid the sins of the people upon it (Lev. 16).

The term Scapegoat is used in modern times when referring to those who take the blame for the faults of others. Interestingly enough, it is actually from the Bible. It is found in Leviticus 16:7-10:

Then he is to take the two goats and present them before the Lord at the entrance to the tent of meeting. He is to cast lots for the two goats—one lot for the Lord and the other for the scapegoat.  Aaron shall bring the goat whose lot falls to the Lordand sacrifice it for a sin offering. But the goat chosen by lot as the scapegoat shall be presented alive before the Lord to be used for making atonement by sending it into the wilderness as a scapegoat.”

At present, the Council / Administration of the Church of Christ is enjoying having so many scapegoats. Whenever there are things that happen, they have their pick of scapegoats. Even without a shred of evidence, they easily point to certain individuals as the culprits even if they are hundreds of kilometres away.

What the Administration does not seem to understand is that the members of the Church of Christ have been taught well – too well for their liking. We are not all blind little imbeciles that can simply be told a fairy tale and believe it without basis. That’s because when we joined the Church, it was not by means of free food or handouts. When we joined, we were encouraged to ask questions – to be clear about doctrines – we were encouraged to ask questions because we were told, we should  not be “fanatics” – we do not follow blindly. This is the reason why in bible studies and worship gatherings, the Ministers must state the book, chapter and verse of what they read to us, isn’t it? So why now, if anyone asks a question, they are “marked” as “one of them” and will eventually be expelled once they find any “evidence“.

We know the difference between right and wrong. We have been taught what is true and what is false. So when we are told something that just doesn’t “jive” with what we have learned from the previous Administration, this is where we draw the line. So when entire families are suddenly expelled, we ask “Why?”. When there are sudden express expulsions of people we have known for years, we ask “How come?” And if you will tell all kinds of “fairy tales” and post it on “Access the Truth” (more like Access the half-truths) as if it is God’s Truth, we have a problem with it.

So I ask, can’t YOU see, Administrators? Don’t you understand why you are expelling more and more people? It is not because the “Defenders” like Mr. Samson are knocking on doors converting people; the problem is YOU! You are creating and changing things and YOU ACT LIKE WE DON’T SEE!

The “leaders” create scapegoats like Brother Angel Manalo who grew up before our eyes, always by his father’s side, always quiet and doing his duty. And now they tell us that he is one of the masterminds. Yet, he sits there in #36 Tandang Sora, being constantly harassed by your attack dogs – the latest –  with the food and water delivery being stopped.

So this tells us two things about brother EVM; either he is really so wicked and BRUTAL that he would bully his younger brother together with the number of people who sit there inside that one house, all huddled together. OR, say for the sake of argument, that Bro. Angel is a “mastermind”, then that makes EVM so totally INEPT that he doesn’t know how to deal with this problem which is not even 2 kilometers away from him. This is not Osame Bin Laden hiding in the caves of Afghanistan or somewhere in the province of Pakistan. His siblings are around the block!! He knows the exact address. Yet he makes it a GLOBAL PROBLEM for the rest of us. They have no helicopters, no air buses, no army, not even sewage and yet he claims that they are the ones responsible for all this happening? Screen Shot 2016-06-10 at 20.18.23Who has the power? Who is in control? Isn’t the Council sitting there in the Central office or mid-air in the airplane and the Administrator has to tell all these people that HE is being persecuted? And worse, he has to get others to defend him?!? Why?? Some brethren “feel” so sorry for him that they have the “Let’smakeEVMsmile”? Really?

What kind of son allows his own people to do this to his OWN MOTHER? And he is the one that needs to smile??

Who is blamed for all the troubles? The Mother. The siblings. Mr. Menorca. Mr. Cayabyab, the list goes on. The fact of the matter is, there were already problems with finances; there were problems with the Philippine Arena. Three people died during the construction; everything was being rushed and quality was not up to par; contractors were not getting paid, what to do, what to do… blame others of course! How convenient it is to have siblings be on the wings ready to be blamed!

But we should really not be surprised at these tactics This is nothing new by the way. Hitler and the Nazis used these very same tactics to gather up support. They demonised the Jews and blamed them for all the woes of Germany at the time, including the economy and unemployment.Screen Shot 2016-06-13 at 02.36.37

This is the very same tactic that ISIS is using – to unite against a common enemy – America and Europe.

So why be surprised if the Council have chosen these people, demonising them, and blaming them for the problems of the Church and accusing them of trying to OVERTHROW the Administrator?

Screen Shot 2016-06-13 at 03.44.37.png

In reality, who really knew anything about Mr. Menorca? Cayabyab? Samson? Out of the millions of church members, so very few. But who is the one who introduced us to these names? Isn’t it the Church leadership? Yes we have seen videos on YouTube. But what really was your reaction when you saw them? Pretty much the reaction of most – “Oh, how sad” And that was it wasn’t it? What were we supposed to do? And yet it is the Church Administration who insists on continuous bombardment of black propaganda, constant reminders not to listen to these people (when? I sure haven’t heard much), And even in the Worship Services, like yesterday’s, there is the demonising once more, of the siblings and their so-called “cohorts”. We were instructed, “do not listen to those expelled! Prove to God that you do not believe the lies. Offer in abundance” (I like that smooth application there by the way. Nice touch managing to get offerings in.)

And if, for argument’s sake, the Church is being persecuted, have we forgotten what we are taught?

“Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.  But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.” 1 Peter 4:12-14

Is this the first time we have been persecuted? Are there not those of other faiths that persecute us as well? How many are there?  We do not lash out and point out the one who is to blame. The Bible simply says “do not be surprised”. It even says REJOICE. (So why does EVM need help to smile?) It says “You are blessed”. So why such anger and hate? For true Christians, there is no need to create a scapegoat. So let’s close on this…

“Do not accuse anyone for no reason— when they have done you no harm.” Proverbs 3:30

  1. I am not affiliated to any religious group but I can say that the evil son traded his own mother and sibling for money and power. What can be worse than that? If the bible he is using is true, he knows where he is heading…
