I always remember watching debates between the Church of Christ and other religions. The Ministers had that cool demeanor about them. They just laid back and waited for the opponents to say what they wanted to say and then they would lay it out. They would spring out the doctrines which the opponent could not answer. The crowd would cheer and that was it. Game over. It was like a confident champion who would wait for the challenger to swing and miss, then there’s the counter punch – BAM! And the crowd goes wild. Next!
Nowadays I go on Facebook and read comments from ‘ministers’ who are supposed to be defending the Church. But I don’t see the Champ with the knock out punch. Instead I see weak little jabs. Little cheap shots whenever they can. You can almost hear their voices squeaking: “Did you see that? Did you hear that?” I saw such actions previously with the attacks on Ka Tenny and her children.
They throw little cheap insults complete with horrid pictures of them. Is that suppose to edify the brethren? Does it not say, “Do not use harmful words, but only helpful words, the kind that build up and provide what is needed, that what you say will do good to those who hear you.”? Please tell me how it is NOT harmful when you post people’s pictures with horns on them?
How is it edifying our faith when you mock others? Is that what we were taught to do as Iglesia Ni Cristo? Is that the Messenger’s legacy to us? Is this still Christian teaching?
Now here they come again. Now they have a “recording of Jesus Ponce and Isaias Samson Jr.” talking about what happened last year. I listened carefully. To be honest, I find nothing revealing about the audio. So they wanted to expose the corruption. They had to take steps against the cruelty the family was experiencing. The brothers were taken out of their duties. The others were being oppressed. What is the point? I hear that squeaking voice again… “did you hear that? Did you hear that?” The funny thing is, what is actually being said is not the same thing as what you have written down. Please kindly TRANSLATE VERBATIM what is there, not your own slanted conclusions.
What I heard is about how the brothers were TAKEN OUT of their duties. That is different from what you term as “turning their backs”. What I heard was brother Jem suspended for WEARING A PIN which had his grandfather’s face on it. Would I be expelled if I wore my pin? Didn’t they look like this? OH THAT EVIL REBELLIOUS Brother Jem!! HOW COULD YOU DO SUCH A WICKED ACT! TO WEAR A PIN OF KA ERDY!!!
Wait a minute. Does it not say, “Remember your former leaders, who spoke God’s message to you. Think back on how they lived and died, and imitate their faith.”? So why would anyone be punished for remembering our former leader? Especially when it is his own grandfather? Yes. Ka Tenny told her grandson NOT to make an affidavit. I heard that. Tell us, what should that affidavit say? “I am sorry for wearing the pin of ka Erdy? From now on I will just wear The Thumb”
Here’s an argument. “Well.. that was ka Erdy’s time. No need to wear his pin now. It’s EVM’s time.”
If some still can recall, if your minds have not been totally warped by The Thumb, that even during ka Erdy’s time, brethren could also wear pins with ka Felix Manalo’s face on it. Why? It was one way to remember our past leaders. Why is it now forbidden to wear a pin with the faces of ka Erdy or ka Felix? Do you remember these brethren?
Do you remember these pins? Can we still wear them?
Now you also belittle what the siblings did for the church? Since we are on the subject of pins. You said what did ka Lottie do for the Church? Who do you think made all those pins you used to wear? The little Pin Fairies? This was the time before they were Sold for a price. They were created and GIVEN AWAY by the siblings. You did know that didn’t you?
And why do you question the decisions of ka Erdy? It was he who decided to ordain them, was it not? Why do you belittle whatever duties they were given? Do YOU remember what the Apostles said?:
“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.”
Is it not God who placed them there? So if they did their Bible studies in Culiat, or in Central itself, are they less worthy? Yes, they were there. Or did you not check that? And if they were in charge of TV productions, was this not also part of the Propagation of the Gospel through mass media and part of the foundation which is now called INC TV? Are those duties any less to God? So if they did not move around but lived in Central, are they any less Ministers? How about ka Erdy’s brothers who were Ministers? Did they also move around? Do you deem them also unworthy?
Remember, the Bible also states: “The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable,”
God says any duty or gifts are INDISPENSABLE. Imagine that. So… even if they were just “overseeing video and audio equipment”, as you call it, it might be nothing to you, but to God, that is still a “gift” that is indispensable. Please don’t belittle any duty.
As far as all those “additional comments” you wrote, I did not hear on the audio, that they would “slander senior ministers”; I did not hear “restoring themselves to glory”; I did not hear the “wicked plans to Restore the Church”; no matter how many times I listened, I did not hear any of those things. Are you sure you are listening to the same thing? Be careful now. Do not add. Do not subtract. And Please – don’t take cheap shots. It is very unbecoming of a Minister.
What we ask of Ministers is simply what the Bible says: “Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity”
Please be careful what you say.
Here is the entire post for those who wish to compare the audio.
